Graduate Programs (PhD)

The Office of Graduate and Reseach Affairs (OGRA) offers academic programs at the leading edge of basic and translational biomedical sciences related to craniofacial development, oral health, and disease processes and treatments.

The PhD program in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences (OCS) is administered through the UCSF School of Dentistry and maintains a special commitment to the education of dental professionals seeking advanced research training and academic careers.

These programs are available for DDS degree holders and other health professionals, and non-professional students with a strong commitment to research in relevant areas.

Our ultimate goal is to provide outstanding training for future academic, professional and research leaders.

The requirements for Graduate Division Admission include:

•Statement of purpose (one page, single spaced)
•Three letters of recommendation (usually from professors who are familiar with your research experience)
•Original transcripts from all schools attended.
•GRE scores (no older than 5 years)
•Original TOEFL scores (If English is not your native language)
•Completed Graduate Division application by December 1. The application form is available at https://gradapplication.ucsf.edu/.
