Monday - Thursday: 8:30am to 12:00pm, & 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
(Closed from Noon to 1 p.m.)

Friday: 8:30am to 12:00pm

Description of Services:

Patients receive state-of-the-art dental care from dental school faculty members, including several general practitioners, dental specialists, and dental hygienists. Our patients may select their own provider to maintain continuity of care with one dentist. The fees charged are similar to those in private practice in the San Francisco area.

Special instructions for new patients:

Your initial visit will be a comprehensive oral examination with a dentist. All other appointments will be scheduled once the examination has been completed. If you have current X-ray films from another office, please bring them with you.

Faculty Group Practice Providers

Dr. Sheila BrearDr. Sheila Brear is a full-time faculty member at the UCSF School of Dentistry, where she is the Division Chair for General Dentistry, and where she teaches general dentistry and prosthodontics. She practices in the Faculty Group Practice on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Her focus is on patient health, and she works with her patients to achieve and maintain optimal oral health.
Dr. Natalie BuuDr. Natalie Buu is originally from Southern California.  After completing her DMD at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, she graduated with honors in restorative dentistry and prosthodontics. Dr. Buu relocated to San Francisco to complete a residency in Prosthodontics at the UCSF School of Dentistry.  During her residency, she was designated as Chief Resident and given the Scuitto Award as the top resident in prosthodontics. Dr. Buu is a full-time faculty member at the UCSF School of Dentistry, teaching general dentistry and prosthodontics at the predoctoral level and treating patients in the Faculty Group Practice.  She is currently the director of the Student Dental Implant Program.
Dr. Narihide KanayamaDr. Narihide Kanayama received his dental degree from University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, followed by General Practice Residency at Tufts University, and a post-graduate Prosthodontic Specialty Program at the University of Pittsburgh.  He has been in private practice since 1995, and taught dentistry part-time at the University of Pennsylvania.  In 2006, he returned to his homeland and received a Japanese dental license, practicing privately in Tokyo.  In 2011 he returned to the United States, and now teaches and practices full-time at the UCSF School of Dentistry.
Dr. Peggy LeongDr. Peggy Leong received her dental degree from the Boston University School of Dental Medicine.  She completed the General Practice Residency in General Dentistry at Tufts University-New England Medical Center in 1981.   After ten years of dental practice at South Cove Community Health Center, and in private practice in Boston, she completed an MBA at Boston University with a concentration in Healthcare Administration.  She became a faculty member of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2001, and practiced general dentistry in the Faculty Group Practice at the Harvard Dental Center until her move to the UCSF School of Dentistry in 2007.  Dr. Leong practices general dentistry Faculty Group Practice.
Dr. Molly NewlonDr. Molly Newlon, Health Sciences Clinical Professor, is the Director of Health and Safety for the UCSF School of Dentistry. In that capacity she provides a curriculum and training on infection control and safety for students, faculty and staff. Dr. Newlon serves on numerous UCSF Dentistry and UCSF campus committees dealing with health and safety issues. As a Health Sciences Clinical Professor she provides clinical teaching to dental students and International Dental Program students, and also treats patients in Faculty Group Practice.  Dr. Newlon received her BA and MA degrees from UCLA and her DDS from University of the Pacific. Following dental school she completed a General Practice Residency program at the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, and was in private practice before joining the UCSF School of Dentistry faculty in 1989.
Dr. Howard PollickDr. Howard Pollick has been a full-time faculty member for more than 30 years at the UCSF School of Dentistry.  His activities include teaching, research and public policy, and he is particularly interested in the use of new technology and techniques, as well as patient education, to prevent and remediate dental problems.  He is a leading expert on the importance of fluoridation, and is the ADA's national spokesperson on the issue.
Dr. Sophia SaeedDr. Sophia Saeed received her dental degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine, after which she completed a residency in general dentistry at the UCSF School of Dentistry.  Dr. Saeed was the Director of the General Practice Residency program from 2009 to 2013, and now practices general dentistry in the Faculty Group Practice, including fillings, cleanings, deep scaling, crowns, bridges, implant restorations, and extractions.
Dr. Ram M. VaderhobliDr. Ram M. Vaderhobli is a full-time faculty member at the UCSF School of Dentistry, where he moved after completing his AEGD residency training at the Eastman Institute of Oral Health at the University of Rochester.  He is the Dental Director for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program, as well as the Clinical Director for the CAD/CAM program.  He gives continuing dental education lectures on the clinical use of dental materials, CAD/CAM dentistry, and lasers in dentistry, and is a clinical materials evaluator for dental companies. He is a recipient of the Arthur C. Dugoni California Faculty Award, and has received numerous awards over the years from graduating classes in recognition of his clinical teaching.  He was recently was recognized by the American College of Dentists with a Distinguished Faculty Award. His practice is based on application of a conservative evidence-based preventive treatment approach.
Dr. Joel WhiteDr. Joel White received his DDS from The Ohio State University, and his MS in dental materials from The University of Michigan.  He is Professor in the Division of General Dentistry and Division of Biomaterials and Bioengineering in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences.  Dr. White is a full-time faculty member at the UCSF School of Dentistry, providing general dental care since 1987 for multiple generations of patients in Faculty Group Practice.  Dr. White teaches clinical dentistry to predoctoral dental students and Advanced Education in General Dentistry residents, and is also active in research.  Dr. White is available by appointment for new and existing patients in the Faculty Group Practice, all day Monday, and Wednesday mornings.
