D2 Sadat Selected to Present at ADA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program

June 14, 2012

Dentsply 2012D2 Ali Sadat has been selected to present at the ADA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program during the 53rd Annual ADA Scientific Session in San Francisco, California, from October 19 - 20, 2012.

The ADA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program was developed originally in 1959. Under the terms of the program, each dental school in the United States and Puerto Rico is invited to select one student to represent it in a research poster presentation competition held during the ADA Annual Session. The program allows DENTSPLY the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of dental sciences and offers each school an opportunity to showcase their student talent.

Sadat’s research - centered in the Marcucio Lab and Orthopaedic Trauma Institute, working with Dr. Ralph Marcucio - is focused on therapeutic use of stem cells to promote bone regeneration in fracture repair. Previously Ali and his work have been honored at the 2011 UCSF Research and Clinical Excellence Day Award (First Place – Predoctoral Category) and the 2012 UCSF Dental Alumni Association Annual Scientific Session (First place).
