July 16, 2012

Greene, AlstonDr. Pamela Alston, UCSF School of Dentistry alumna, Past President of the UCSF Dental Alumni Association, and UCSF Dental Alumni Association Medal of Honor recipient, has been elected President of the Alameda County Dental Society. She will be the Society's first African American Female President when she takes office in January, 2013.

"My training ground for leadership in organized dentistry was the UCSF Dental Alumni Association (DAA)" says Dr. Alston. "I credit the DAA council members not only with modeling excellent leadership skills but also with taking an interest in my leadership development. Many of them were past-presidents of CDA component dental societies, and they were big on participation. I am grateful to the DAA for inculcating in me the duty to serve my profession."
