D2 La Rochelle Awarded 2013 ADEAGies Foundation/AADR Academic Dental Careers Fellowship

Natalie La RochelleD2 Natalie La Rochelle was awarded a 2013 ADEAGies Foundation/AADR Academic Dental Careers Fellowship Program fellowship at the 2013 American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Annual Session and Exhibition in Seattle, WA March 16-19.

The ADEAGies Foundation/AADR Academic Dental Careers Fellowship Program (ADEAGies/AADR ADCFP) provides dental students with an opportunity to experience the benefits of an academic career and prepares students to enter academic dentistry via the year-long fellowship experience, and via mentor training and support programs utilizing dental school faculty.

The fellowship began at the 2013 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition and includes two half-day Fellow/Mentor training sessions, four webinar training sessions, biweekly collaboration meetings between La Rochelle and her mentor, UCSF Dentistry faculty Dr. Linda Centore, faculty/administrator interviews, teaching practicum in four settings, career reflection essays, research practicum, poster presentation at the 2014 ADEA Annual Session & Exhibition, an ADCFP portfolio, and ADCFP evaluations.

La Rochelle is also the recipient of an American Dental Association Foundation Predoctoral Dental Student Scholarship for the current academic year.

The 2012 ADEAGies Foundation/AADR Academic Dental Careers Fellowship was awarded to ADEA at UCSF President Rosalie Bittong Brao and Shahab Parsa, both UCSF dental students in the Class of 2014.
