AADR 2014 Wrapup
By Roger Mraz, Office of Graduate and Research Affairs
An amazing and exciting time for UCSF participants at the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) Annual Meeting in Charlotte, NC, March 19 – 22, 2014. UCSF had 31 student and faculty abstracts accepted for presentation at this session.
Said Dr. Peter Sargent, UCSF Dentistry's Associate Dean for Research, "What an exciting event! UCSF was represented very well by our students, postgrads and faculty. Their talks were well attended, and their posters were mobbed with people. The student presentations were terrific - we sent a very positive message to the community about our talent."
- Joshua Emrick (DDS/PhD) ended his term as President of the National Student Research Group (NSRG).
- Molly Hague (D3) was sworn in as the new President of the National Student Research Group (NSRG). Molly will serve in this capacity for the next year.
- Michael Wang (D2) was elected as Vice President of the National Student Research Group (NSRG). Michael will serve in this role from 2016 - 16.
The following students were awarded AADR Student Research Fellowships:
Moham Ansari (Sunita Ho)
Yolanda Ho (Ralph Marcucio)
Minerva Loi (Sarah Knox)
These Fellowships, supported by several major industrial companies, as well as by AADR and IADR Group Chapters, Sections, and members, are sponsored and administered by the AADR and have been created to encourage dental students living in the United States to consider careers in oral health research.
Congratulations to our distinguished UCSF Dentistry researchers and their mentors!
