The dental education program and the advanced specialty education programs in dental public health, endodontics, orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics and prosthodontics are accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and have been granted the accreditation status of "approval without reporting requirements". The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. The advanced dental education program in general practice residency is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and has been granted the accreditation status of "approval without reporting requirements". The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. The Commission on Dental Accreditation can be contacted at (312) 440-4653 or at 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, ll, 60611. The Commission on Dental Accreditation has accredited the postdoctoral program in general practice residency. However, this education area is not one of the American Dental Association's recognized specialty areas. Therefore, dentists graduating from this program cannot announce that they are specialists, as recognized by the American Dental Association.

Advanced Specialty Education Program in Dental Public Health
- The program is commended for its extensive documentation of the residency plans, the residents' daily logs, for ensuring that the residency competencies are met and for the level of faculty participation and communication with residents.
Advanced Specialty Education Program in Endodontics
- The program is commended for the selection of mature and enthusiastic residents who seem to be well-suited for success in the rigorous didactic, clinical and research components of this advanced specialty education program.
Advanced Specialty Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
- The program is commended for its internationally known and dedicated faculty.
- The division of orthodontics is commended for constructing an esthetically pleasing, modern and efficient clinical facility.
Advanced Specialty Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry
- The program director and faculty are commended for their energy, enthusiasm and commitment to teaching.
