#6 in a series

As you know, the School's Accreditation site visit from the Commission on Dental Accreditation is nearly upon us. To help faculty, staff and students in final preparations for this event, we've created this "Did You Know?" series with some interesting facts and tidbits about the School of Dentistry. We will email it weekly until the week of the Accreditation visit from April 12-14, 2005.

  • The UCSF School of Dentistry enjoys a worldwide reputation for its premier, wide-ranging research program. It has ranked first among all U.S. dental schools in NIH research funding for 13 consecutive years. The School's research faculty directly participate in and greatly enrich the pre-doctoral program by providing basic science instruction, mentoring and research experience opportunities to all students.

  • The School of Dentistry has premier clinicians, clinical researchers, and basic and translational scientists. In all, the School has 80 full-time faculty members and more than 100 part-time paid and 200 without-salary faculty members, mostly in the clinical sciences. The faculty is supported by more than 200 non-academic staff members, who work in the clinics, administrative offices and research laboratories.
