#7 in a series

As you know, the School's Accreditation site visit from the Commission on Dental Accreditation is nearly upon us. To help faculty, staff and students in final preparations for this event, we've created this "Did You Know?" series with some interesting facts and tidbits about the School of Dentistry. We will email it weekly until the week of the Accreditation visit from April 12-14, 2005.

  • The Mission of the School of Dentistry is: The UCSF School of Dentistry seeks to improve public health through excellence in teaching, research, patient care, and public service in the dental and craniofacial sciences. We foster an inspired environment where individuals identify themselves as scholars and realize their scholarship through service as clinicians, educators, and scientists.

  • The four goals of the School of Dentistry define the mission for UCSF:

    • Continuous development and improvement of the UCSF Educational Program;
    • Continuous development and improvement of the UCSF Research Program;
    • Service to the community; and
    • The maintaining of financial stability in the face of declining state support.
