#12 in a series
As you know, the School's Accreditation site visit from the Commission on Dental Accreditation is nearly upon us. To help faculty, staff and students in final preparations for this event, we've created this "Did You Know?" series with some interesting facts and tidbits about the School of Dentistry. We will email it weekly until the week of the Accreditation visit from April 12-14, 2005.
- The School of Dentistry has 160,411 gross square feet, of which 58,365 is for clinical use and includes 221 operatories for its predoctoral, postdoctoral and faculty services. Additionally, 45,513 square feet are allocated to research, 8,267 are used for seminar space and classrooms, and 41,044 square feet are for academic and administrative offices. The remaining 7,222 square feet are for miscellaneous support services.
- Patients are asked to complete the confidential Patient Satisfaction Survey at their initial treatment visit and at subsequent periodic visits. Results are reviewed and monitored by the Clinic Directors, the Clinic Administrative Committee and the Quality Assurance Oversight Committee. The School's patients report positive overall experiences with the student providers, clinical faculty, quality of care received, staff services and facilities. Most of the categories surveyed received an overall positive response rate exceeding 90%.
