#14 and last in a series
As you know, the School's Accreditation site visit from the Commission on Dental Accreditation is nearly upon us. To help faculty, staff and students in final preparations for this event, we've created this "Did You Know?" series with some interesting facts and tidbits about the School of Dentistry. We will email it weekly until the week of the Accreditation visit from April 12-14, 2005.
Reminder: A town hall meeting will be held on Thursday, April 14, from 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm in C-701 to discuss CODA's Accreditation findings. This session is open to all faculty, staff and students.
- The Administration and faculty assure quality patient care through a school-wide quality assurance program in which review occurs at the departmental level, with oversight provided by the Quality Assurance Oversight Committee and the Dean's Council. The Clinic Administrative Committee is involved in quality assurance activities and the results of quality assurance activities are reported to the Dean.
- With annual expenditures of nearly $67 million, the UCSF School of Dentistry engages in more fiscal activity than typical of a dental school its size. In the 2002/03 Survey of Predoctoral Dental Educational Institutions conducted by the American Dental Association, UCSF ranked second out of the 54 U.S. dental schools in total revenue per DDS equivalent; first in sponsored education, research, and training per DDS equivalent; and third in clinical income per DDS equivalent.
