Deborah Greenspan Receives
Honorary Degree
from King's College London

Dr. Deborah Greenspan, BDS, DSc, Professor of Clinical Oral Medicine and Interim Chair of the Department of Orofacial Sciences at the UCSF School of Dentistry, and Clinical Director of the Oral AIDS Center, has received an honorary degree from King's College London during the second honorary degree ceremony at the College's Strand Campus. The degree honors individuals "who are of conspicuous merit as demonstrated by their outstanding academic contribution to their field." Lord Douro, Chairman of King's College Council, officiated at the ceremony on Thursday, November 29, and College Principal Professor Rick Trainor co-presided.

King's College London is the fourth oldest university in England and is part of a coalition of the UK's major research-based universities. The College has had 24 of its subject-areas awarded the highest rating for research quality, demonstrating excellence at an international level. King's has a distinguished reputation in the humanities, law, social sciences, the health sciences, natural sciences and engineering, and has played a major role in many of the advances that have shaped modern life, such as the discovery of the structure of DNA. It is the largest center for the education of healthcare professionals in Europe.
