A Departmental Affiliated Technology Center

The University of California San Francisco Biomolecular Resource Center (BRC) Mass Spectrometry Facility exists to bring mass spectrometry tools to the UCSF research community. The goals of the facility are to supply mass spectrometry services through collaborative and fee-for-service venues and to provide mass spectrometry education through lectures, training classes, electronic media, seminars and participation in formal university courses.

Services

  • Protein identification by peptide mass fingerprinting (PMF)
  • Protein identification by tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS)
  • Molecular weight determination of synthetic or naturally isolated peptides, intact proteins, oligonucleotides by MALDI TOF or ESI QqTOF mass spectrometry
  • Hands-on educational workshops
  • Project planning and consultation
