D3 Andre Guerrero Wins
American Dental Society of Anesthesiology
1st Place Research Award

Third year dental student Andre Guerrero was awarded First Place in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology National Meeting in Puerto Rico on Friday, May 2nd for his paper titled "Peripheral cannabinoids attenuate carcinoma-induced nociception in mice", published in January in Neuroscience Letters.

"I am humbled by winning this award" said Guerrero. "Attending the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology meeting in Puerto Rico was an invaluable experience. There were many great seminars presented by world renowned dental anesthesiologists. I would like to thank Dr. Schmidt and everyone in his lab for their tireless effort and contribution to this project. I encourage everyone doing pain or anesthesia research to apply for the competition this year."
