The UCSF School of Dentistry's Director of Development and Alumni Relations, Richard McKenzie, has announced his departure for a new position as Director of Development and Alumni Relations for the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky. His final day at UCSF will be Friday, March 14th.
Interim Dean John D.B. Featherstone asks the School community to join together in wishing him the very best in his new role and in thanking him for his tremendous accomplishments since assuming the directorship in 2001, characterizing the announcement of his departure as "bittersweet."
In addition to his directorship at Dentistry, McKenzie has been extremely active as an advocate and mentor, demonstrating leadership across a range of issues, including membership in the Chancellor's Advisory Committe on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Issues and receipt of the Chancellor's Award for GLBT Leadership (2003), the past directorship of the American Dental Education Association Alumni Relations Section and the current directorship of the American Society of Dental Foundation Executives, as well as associate membership in the Bay Area Physicians for Human Rights.
The announcement of an interim Director of Development and Alumni Relations is pending.
