Student Bio: 
Jackie Nguyen was originally from Los Angeles, California and attended UCSD for college. She majored in molecular biology and did her Master’s training in a plant genetics lab studying the role of the Scrambled gene in Arabidopsis fruit development. Jackie came to UCSF in 2008 and joined as a DDS-PhD student. She is currently doing her PhD in Dr. Tamara Alliston’s lab studying the role of TGF-beta signaling in load-mediated bone formation. She was a recipient of the NIH F30 grant, ARCS scholarship, and ASBMR Young Investigator travel award for the ECTS course. Outside of the lab, Jackie likes to explore the many delicious restaurants in San Francisco.
