Student Bio: 
Immigrated from Taipei, Taiwan, to Keokuk, Iowa, Nick graduated with a BA in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis in 2010, and obtained his MS in Physiology from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2013. Nick’s endeavors in vestibular research earned him the top prize award at Otology Jubilee in Halle/Saale, Germany in 2014. After having worked as a Program Manager abroad with Roche Diabetes Care, he joined the OCS DDS/PhD program at UCSF in 2015. Under Dr. Daniel Fried in Preventative and Restorative Dental Sciences department, Nick’s current research investigates the influence of multi-wavelength laser irradiation of enamel and dentin surfaces on surface morphology and acid resistance. Nick enjoys bouldering, running, cycling, and swimming. He is also passionate about cooking and music.
