Tiffany Hsu (D2) and Nicole (Neek) LaMantia (D1) have been selected for national American Student Dental Association (ASDA) positions: as Council Associate to the Council on Communications, and as Electronic Editor, respectively.
Fifteen dental students from the six California dental schools, along with many more from dental schools all over the United States, applied for national ASDA positions. Only four California students were selected to serve for national ASDA, two of whom are UCSF Dentistry students.
TIffany Hsu (D2) has received the position of Council Associate to the Council on Communications. There are four members on the council, which is responsible for improving communications between ASDA's leadership and membership, and is a huge resource for chapters that seek to improve their communication efforts. Tiffany will be traveling to Chicago for council meetings, along with other national leaders, throughout the year.
Nicole (Neek) LaMantia has been selected as the Electronic Editor, and will be managing the national ASDA blog, Mouthing Off , which is recommended reading: www.asdablog.com . She will attend all National Editorial meetings, most of which are held in Chicago at ASDA's headquarters. Chicago also happens to be her hometown.
In addition, D2s Jolie Goodman and Karina Lee were recently appointed as the ASDA District 11 Northern California Outreach Coordinator and Communications Chair, respectively. ASDA District 11 encompasses all California dental school ASDA chapters.
Congratulations to Tiffany, Nicole, Jolie and Karina!
