D2 Michael Wang has been elected as the Vice-President of the National Student Research Group (NSRG), part of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR), for 2015-2016. He will assume office at the IADR/AADR Session next year in Boston, Massachusetts.
The NSRG is a student-run organization whose main purpose is to foster an environment in every dental school whereby students interested in enriching their dental education through research are encouraged to do so. It is composed of a network of self-governing local student research group chapters at each dental school, and is led nationally by officers elected through a majority of votes from all members.
Says Wang: "I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as NSRG Vice President for 2015-2016, and look forward to bringing the leadership experiences I have gained as President of the John C. Greene Society (UCSF Dentistry's Student Research Group) to the national level. My goals include boosting regional NSRG activity, establishing a more expansive alumni network, creating a pre-dental outreach initiative, and exploring sustainable paths for organizational funding. I am excited and humbled as I join this enthusiastic team of individuals in fostering interest in research among dental students across the nation.”
