D3s Oscar Reyna-Blanco and Daniel Ramirez have been awarded Procter and Gamble Hispanic Dental Association (HDA) scholarships by the HDA Foundation, awarded "to individuals that show a strong promise of leadership, advancement and community service in the dental profession."
The mission of the HDA Foundation is to build healthier communities and develop leaders who impact transformational strategies for education, scholarship and research.
"It is a tremendous honor to be selected as the recipient of the HDA scholarship, and I am thrilled to represent the Hispanic community of UCSF Dentistry" says Daniel Ramirez. "At this year's HDA conference I hope to collaborate with national HDA chapters to promote diversity in the dental profession. Thanks to family, friends, and the Hispanic Dental Association for the wonderful support."
"I am truly honored and humbled to be a 2014 National HDA Scholar" says Oscar Reyna-Blanco. "There is nothing more exciting than to be able to represent UCSF, our HSDA chapter, and our community, at a national level. These opportunities would never be possible if it was not for all the support from UCSF mentors, staff and friends. Truly looking forward to the experience!"
Oscar Reyna-Blanco and Daniel Ramirez will be attending the 2014 National HDA Conference this August in Las Vegas to receive their awards.
