The UCSF Center to Address Disparities in Children's Oral Health (known as CAN DO) is comprised of transdisciplinary researchers working to reduce oral health disparities -- particularly in dental caries or tooth decay -- in children and their caregivers.

CAN DO started as a multi-project research center funded through two consecutively funded cooperative agreements from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)/National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) from September, 2001 through May 2016. The current three NIDCR cooperative agreements (U01DE025507, UH2DE025504, UH2DE025514) were awarded September 18, 2015 through August 31, 2020 and along with affiliated projects collectively comprise CAN DO 3.
