Office of Graduate & Reseach Affairs (OGRA)
The Office of Graduate and Reseach Affairs (OGRA) offers academic programs at the leading edge of basic and translational biomedical sciences related to craniofacial development, oral health, and disease processes and treatments.
The program is administered through the UCSF School of Dentistry and maintains a special commitment to the education of dental professionals seeking advanced research training and academic careers.
PhD programs are mainly focused in two areas:
1) biomedical sciences, and
2) biomaterials and bioengineering
These programs are available for DDS degree holders and other health professionals, and non-professional students with a strong commitment to research in relevant areas.
A DDS/PhD program is also supported by NIH/NIDCR.
At present, a terminal MS degree is available mainly for dentists pursuing advanced specialty training, as well as an integrated DDS/MS program for a limited number of dental students.
Our ultimate goal is to provide outstanding training for future academic, professional and research leaders.
