Establishing Residence for Tuition Purposes
New students seeking information regarding residence requirements, determination, and/or recognized exceptions should contact the Residence Deputy, Office of Admission and Registrar, MU 200 West, San Francisco, CA 94143-0244, 476-8850 or the Legal AnalystResidence Matters, Office of the General Counsel, University of California, 1111 Franklin Street, Twelfth Floor, Oakland, CA 94607-5200. No other University personnel are authorized to supply information relative to residence requirements for tuition purposes.
Continuing students seeking a change of classification from nonresident to resident status should contact the Residence Deputy, Office of Admission and Registrar, MU 200 West, San Francisco, CA 94143-0244 (476-8850). No other University personnel are authorized to supply information relative to residence requirements for tuition purposes.
Any student denied resident status by the Residence Deputy may appeal in writing to the Legal Analyst within 45 days of notification of denial. Written appeals must be submitted to the UCSF Residence Deputy so that the student file can be sent to the Legal Analyst.
