Special Problems. Specific suggestions and/or referrals can be made by the UCSF Student Health Service therapists for problems such as drug or alcohol dependence. The Student Health Insurance Plan does provide coverage for drug and alcohol treatment. Alcoholics Anonymous also has a 24-hour phone, 621-1326 (fax 621-0258), which is always answered by a real person.
Disabled Student Services. The Office of Student Relations is located in Millberry Union 126, 476-4318 (voice and TDD). Services for students with disabilities are coordinated by the Office of Student Relations. The ultimate goal is for each student to function independently in the educational environment.
Among the services available to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities are: interpreter, reader and notetaker services which are necessary to allow a student to complete the academic program; special parking; mobility assistance; registration assistance; test-taking arrangements; special orientation to the campus physical environment; liaison with the California State Department of Rehabilitation; and referral to resources, services, and agencies. Also, assistance with assessment and accommodation of learning disabilities is available.
