How do you get the most out of mentoring, as a mentor or a mentee? Bring your questions to our next Ask Me Anything on Oct. 14. Guest participants include:
- Matt Kutys, PhD, Assistant Professor in Cell and Tissue Biology. Dr. Kutys is a recently hired junior faculty developing a research program and teaching in SOD courses. His perspectives on mentoring are an amalgam of recently being a trainee and now mentoring four graduate students and a research associate in his lab.
- Francesca Aloisio, PhD, is a recent graduate in the Biomedical Sciences program. She has led several initiatives on improving mentoring for students, participated in mentoring workshops, and mentored a number of undergraduate and high school students interested in STEM.
- Diane Barber, PhD, Professor and Chair of the Department of Cell and Tissue Biology. Dr. Barber has participated in multiple mentoring programs, been the mentoring coordinator for her department for more than 15 years, and directly mentored more than 30 trainees in her lab over more than 25 years.
