Instructor: Matthew Thacker, DMD, BS, FAGD
Dr. Matthew Thacker is the Assistant Dean of Clinical Education and Patient Care at Roseman University of Health Sciences in Las Vegas, Nevada. He oversees the clinical education curriculum, faculty development, and patient care quality improvement programs for Southern Nevada's College of Dental Medicine operations. He also serves as the Program Director of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program.
Dr. Thacker, born and raised in Las Vegas, earned his Bachelor's degree in Biology with a concentration in Integrative Physiology in 2014 and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) in 2018 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). He served as a Fleet Marine Force dental officer in the U.S. Navy for four years, where he gained extensive experience in emergency dental care and clinic management.
Dr. Thacker has received several honors, including the Healthcare Headliner Award and the American Association of Endodontics Student Achievement Award. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry. He actively participates in professional organizations such as the American Dental Education Association, the Nevada Dental Association, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Thacker also serves on the Board of Directors for the Adopt a Vet Dental Program and consults for the Nevada Board of Dental Examiners.
Dr. Thacker's dedication to dental education and patient care is reflected in his numerous leadership roles and teaching positions in pre-doctoral, post-graduate, and continuing education. He has developed comprehensive dental implantology curriculums for NYU, the Advanced Dental Implant Research & Education Center, and Roseman University of Health Sciences. His commitment to excellence continues to shape the next generation of skilled, compassionate, and service-oriented dentists.

Cancellation/Refunds:
Tuition refund, less a $25 cancellation fee, will be issued only for cancellations received in writing at least 3 business days prior to the start date of the course. No refunds will be issued for late cancellations or no-shows. We reserve the right to cancel any course due to circumstances beyond our control; under those circumstances we will refund all course fee payments. Please be aware that UCSF School of Dentistry CDE is not responsible for reimbursement of nonrefundable airline tickets or any other travel expenses in the event that a course is canceled.
