    Join us one or two days for advanced topics in Obstructive Sleep Apnea!

    This course is designed to help dentists determine which appliance is appropriate for a patient. There are many appliances to choose from and each appliance may not be appropriate for specific circumstances. Small mouths, tori, mouth breathers, large tongues, small teeth are just a few intra-oral problems to consider when fabricating an appliance.

  • Research and Clincial Excellence Day 2019

    Each year, the School of Dentistry community gathers for our annual Research and Clinical Excellence Day. UCSF students and research trainees present their work through posters and oral presentations. For predoctoral students who have spent the summer working on projects with their faculty advisors, this event offers an opportunity to receive feedback as they fine-tune their presentations for a national audience at upcoming meetings of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).

  • Is Your Office Truly Ready to Manage a Medical Emergency?

    This course is designed to help attendees become familiar with various medical emergencies, immediately life-threatening and non-life threatening, that can occur in a dental office. Situations include but not limited to myocardial infarction, angina, asthma, allergic reactions, syncope, and hypoglycemia. The first session of the course will provide up-to-date information about the pathophysiology, prevention, and management of the aforementioned medical emergencies.

    The UCSF Mini-Residency in Dental Sleep Medicine is designed for dental professionals to develop and gain in-depth knowledge about clinical procedures for treating sleep-related breathing disorders. Participants will become familiar and skilled at utilizing oral appliance therapy in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), sleep disordered breathing, and snoring patients to incorporate sleep apnea treatment into a dental practice.
