    Each year, the School of Dentistry community gathers for our annual Research and Clinical Excellence Day. UCSF students and research trainees present their work through posters and oral presentations. For predoctoral students who have spent the summer working on projects with their faculty advisors, this event offers an opportunity to receive feedback as they fine-tune their presentations for a national audience at upcoming meetings of the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA).

    Dr. Setia will present evidence-based, differential implant treatment planning that will address the common concerns of both clinicians and patients.

    The UCSF Mini-Residency in Dental Sleep Medicine is designed for dental professionals to develop and gain in-depth knowledge about clinical procedures for treating sleep-related breathing disorders. Participants will become familiar and skilled at utilizing oral appliance therapy in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), sleep disordered breathing, and snoring patients to incorporate sleep apnea treatment into a dental practice.

  • Dental Implant Therapy: Sinus and Ridge Augmentation

    During this course, literature will be presented and discussed that supports the rationale for using preventative measures such as specific methods of atraumatic exodontia and techniques of ridge preservation. When a pneumatized sinus or atrophic ridge is present, the knowledge of and implementation of various sinus and ridge augmentation techniques can help assure a successful outcome.
