Dr. JungSoo Kim is an Assistant Clinical Professor and Program Director of the pre-doctoral program in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
Dr. Kim completed her B.S. with High Honors from the University of Michigan, and her D.D.S., Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, and M.S. in Oral and Craniofacial Sciences from UCSF. During her final year of residency, she was selected to serve as the Chief Resident. For her research using near-infrared light-based imaging to diagnose early occlusal caries on primary teeth, Dr. Kim was awarded the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Graduate Student Research Award and the Ralph E. McDonald Award, the most prestigious award given to pediatric dentistry residents.
As a faculty, Dr. Kim is engaged in pre-doctoral and post-doctoral education in pediatric dentistry and is also involved in a HRSA grant to improve pre-doctoral curriculum in special health care needs. Dr. Kim also treats her patients in her faculty practice and in the operating room for treatment under general anesthesia at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. Dr. Kim feels privileged to be able to serve for UCSF patients and being able to provide care for children with complex medical conditions and special health care needs.
