Dr. Tiffany C. Scharschmidt is a dermatologist who cares for adults with a range of dermatological conditions. She also helps to oversee the multidisciplinary care of patients with complex skin disease.
Scharschmidt's research focuses on understanding how healthy skin bacteria communicate with the immune system. Her UCSF research laboratory, which receives funding from the National Institutes of Health, studies the role of our microbiome in skin health and disease, with a particular focus on early life.
After earning a bachelor's degree at Princeton University, Scharschmidt earned her medical degree at UCSF, where she also completed a residency in dermatology.
