IDP Alumna Named Health and Safety Director

Ramneek Rai, DDS, has been named director of health and safety in the School of Dentistry. She succeeds Molly Newlon, DDS, MA, and will start Feb. 1.

"I am delighted to have Dr. Rai in this position, especially as an International Dentist Program alumna," said Mark Kirkland, DDS, interim dean. A 2009 IDP graduate, Dr. Rai has served as an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences since 2015. She earned her BDS from Dasmesh Institute of Dental Sciences, India.

Prior to joining the UCSF faculty, Dr. Rai has been in private practice — in Houston and in the Bay Area — since 2011.
