Innovative scholarship was highlighted at the School of Dentistry's annual Research and Clinical Excellence Day, held virtually on April 5.
Fifty-one poster presentations filled the predoctoral, ADCFP, postdoctoral/resident, research associate, and clinical case categories. Additionally, 17 presenters gave focused three-minute thesis-style oral presentations.

"Despite the challenges that COVID and remote work created, UCSF School of Dentistry students and staff have been able to be innovative and productive in their research activity in the last year, as highlighted in the breadth and depth of novel findings presented at Research and Clinical Excellence Day," said Stuart Gansky, MS, DrPH, associate dean for research.
Keynote presenter Darnell Kaigler, DDS, PhD, MS, of the University of Michigan, shared his cutting-edge lab-to-chairside research on tissue regeneration using bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells, including clinical case applications.
