UCSF School of Dentistry made a stellar showing at the 2021 general session of the International Association for Dental Research, held online July 21-24.
IADR Distinguished Scientist Awards went to faculty Sarah Knox, PhD, and Caroline Shiboski, DDS, MPH, PhD, respectively for salivary research and for oral medicine and pathology research. Dr. Knox is an associate professor in the Department of Cell and Tissue Biology, and assistant dean for basic science research. Dr. Shiboski is professor and chair of the Department of Orofacial Sciences.
Pamela Den Besten, DDS, MS, was named an American Association for Dental Research (AADR) Fellow. Dr. Den Besten, professor in the Deparment of Orofacial Sciences, is the current IADR president.
