UCSF Dentistry students took away grants, fellowships and even an award at last month’s AADOCR/CADR Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Atlanta.
The American Association for Dental Oral and Craniofacial Research and the Canadian Association for Dental Research organized the hybrid event. Although attendance was smaller than past years, engagement was strong, the scientific presentations were impressive, and the technology worked nearly without a hitch. A couple dozen UCSF School of Dentistry participants attended the event.
“Our students, whether presenting in-person or during virtual session, did a fantastic job communicating their science and representing UCSF,” said Benjamin Chaffee, DDS, MPH, PhD, associate professor of Oral Epidemiology and Dental Public Health and director of the Global Oral Health Program at the UCSF School of Dentistry.
Overall, the event created community again among dentistry colleagues and professionally reenergized attendees. Many are excited for next year’s meeting in Portland.
