Andreana was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She first attended Los Medanos College where she received her associates degree in Biological Sciences in 2020. She transferred to and graduated from UC Berkeley where she earned her BA in Molecular and cell biology with an emphasis in Physiology in 2022. At UC Berkeley, Andreana conducted research in Dr. Iswar Hariharan’s lab. Her research focused on identifying signaling pathways that may promote stress-induced apoptosis. After graduating, she joined Dr. Todd Nystul’s lab at UCSF as a junior specialist in 2022 where she studied the role of cell biological factors in influencing cell fate decisions in somatic tissues. Also, she was a PROPEL scholar for the UCSF PROPEL program, which provided the guidance and mentorship to support the next steps of her scientific career. Her research experiences have drove her interests in developmental biology, and wanting to understand how different aspects of biology important for proper development of an organism can be altered.
