Very much a bicoastal girl, Brooke Brannon has spent much of her life bouncing back and forth between the East and West Coast. Brooke was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, and moved to Southern California with her mom, dad, and fraternal twin sister in 2009. After high school, she returned to the East Coast where she earned her BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017. Dr. Brannon then returned to the West Coast where she earned her DDS from UCLA in 2021. During dental school, Dr. Brannon served as vice president of the Associated Student Body and was very involved in the California Dental Association (CDA), serving as a student delegate and advocating for patient and dentists' interests on the state level. Dr. Brannon's greatest accomplishment in dental school was co-founding the student organization Healthy Dentist Initiative, which focused on promoting mental health awareness and dental student wellness. In the future, she hopes to remain involved in political advocacy and leadership. Additionally, during dental school, Dr. Brannon conducted research with Dr. William Magee III studying the effects of the timing of surgical palatal repair in cleft palate patients on the development of midface hypoplasia and the need for corrective orthognathic surgery. This resulted in two publications and sparked her interest in OMFS and craniofacial surgery. Dr. Brannon's clinical interests include the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery and she is considering doing a craniofacial fellowship in the future. During her spare time, she loves to surf, run, hike, camp, explore new restaurants, and host friends at her apartment. In the next few years, Dr. Brannon dreams of adding a yellow lab puppy to her family.
