Gregory Polonsky was born and raised in the Bay Area with family roots in Odessa, Ukraine. He attended De Anza College before transferring to UC Davis to complete a BS in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology along with a minor in Technology Management in 2018. Following undergrad Dr. Polonsky pursued a DDS degree at the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry here in San Francisco, graduating in 2021.
Although always having an interest in dentistry from an early age, working with an oral & maxillofacial surgeon in Davis raised his interest in the medical aspect of the field. Throughout undergrad and dental school, Dr. Polonsky researched DNA R-loops and their involvement in cancer progression, ADORA receptors and their involvement in oral squamous cell carcinoma, and AMPK upregulation during dental pulp stem cell differentiation. He plans to continue to do research during GPR and is excited to gain as much clinical exposure and knowledge as possible in the coming year. When not in clinic, Dr. Polonsky enjoys digital photography, DJing, working out, concerts/music festivals, exploring the outdoors, and trying new food.
