Jessi grew up in Virginia and Tennessee, and graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology in 2017. Before coming to UCSF, Jessi worked in the lab of Dr. Anahid Jewett at UCLA from 2015 to 2018. The focus of her work was activation and therapeutic techniques centered around natural killer cells in the fight against cancer. As a member of the pre-dental society and a volunteer in low-income clinics, Jessi discovered her love of dentistry and decided to pursue a program that would allow her to couple her clinical and research goals. Jessi is excited to be at UCSF and explore the many paths her future career as a DDS/PhD could take, either continuing her immunotherapy research or investigating the burgeoning fields of stem cells and biotechnology. When not in the lab or in class, Jessi enjoys hiking, reading, and hanging out with her friends/cats.
