Ryunhyung (Jessica) Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea, and grew up in New York City. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Science and Medicine from the University of Chicago in 2020. Returning to New York City, she pursued her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Columbia University of Dental Medicine. During her college years, Dr. Kim discovered her passion for research, which she continued to pursue in dental school. Her research focuses on musculoskeletal and craniofacial regeneration, and she has presented her findings at various dental research meetings. She is thrilled to continue her research endeavors at UCSF. Outside of academia, Dr. Kim enjoys attending Solidcore classes, exploring new restaurants, and traveling. She looks forward to discovering all that San Francisco has to offer!
