Kate Lovell is originally from Spokane, Washington and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Entrepreneurship from Baylor University (Sic 'em Bears!) in 2018 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from UCSF School of Dentistry in 2022.
During her time at Baylor and UCSF, she loved getting involved in the community through multiple leadership positions, volunteering, research, teaching assistant positions, and tutoring. Currently, she volunteers after hours at La Clinica in Oakland’s Fruitvale District to provide orthodontic care to an underserved population. She also led efforts to incorporate free orthodontic consults into the annual Give Kids A Smile Day at UCSF, a national program that provides underserved children with free oral health care. For her research, she is working with Stanford Sleep Surgery to analyze the therapeutic effects of orthodontic treatment on pediatric sleep apnea and tonsillar hypertrophy.
Dr. Lovell is thrilled to be a part of the UCSF Orthodontic family and loves working with her patients to achieve functional and beautiful smiles!
