Five first year dental students have been chosen to compete for AADR Student Research Fellowship awards, to be announced at the American Association for Dental Research (AADR) Scientific Session in Charlotte, March 19–22, 2014.
They are Moham Ansari (Mentor: Sunita Ho), Yolanda Ho (Mentor: Ralph Marcucio), Minerva Loi (Mentor: Sarah Knox), Raion Sabo (Mentor: Lisa Chung) and Edward Viloria (Mentor: Andrew Jheon).
"It’s an absolute privilege and a tremendous opportunity to be nominated to apply for the AADR fellowship from such a talented pool of applicants" says Moham Ansari. Adds Yolanda Ho: "Being able to represent my school for this AADR Fellowship was worth every minute of preparation."
"Being selected by UCSF School of Dentistry to submit a research proposal on a national level is an incredible honor" says Raion Sabo. "Our school is renowned for research and innovation, and I am very excited to have an opportunity to continue this tradition and hopefully make an impact on the field of dentistry."
These fellowships, supported by several major industrial companies, as well as by AADR Group Chapters, Sections and members, are sponsored and administered by the AADR and have been created to encourage dental students living in the United States to consider careers in oral health research.
We wish them all the best as they go forward to represent the UCSF School of Dentistry.
