Test Development Workshop Series (three 1 hour sessions), March 6, 7, and 13
School of Dentistry, Room D-2009, 707 Parnassus Ave.
Have you ever needed answers to the following questions?
- What should go on a test?
- How do we write test items that assess something other than memory?
- How do we know which test items are good (how do we decipher those reports that come with the test results)?
Answers to these questions, and guidance on how to develop test items consistent with upcoming changes in the boards, will be addressed in three 1-hour workshops. Each question above will be used as a basis for a one hour session. You will be asked to bring a sample of 10 items from your current examinations. Please include a mixture of items you like and ones you would like to improve. You will use your own items as you explore answers to the three questions. You will be given a test construction guide that will be a useful resource outside of the workshop. We look forward to your participation.
Instructors: Patricia O’Sullivan, EdD, and Christy Boscardin, PhD, School of Medicine, UCSF

Teaching & Learning Lending Library
I have made a start at a lending library for Teaching and Learning. There are now about 20 holdings, 11 of which are loaded onto Kindle Readers. For a list of the current titles in the nascent library, click on the following link: The Current Holdings .
To borrow a title (or a Kindle, which has many titles), just come by my office (S-630). Since I may be off-site, or since the title you want may be out, perhaps it's best to call or email before you make the trek.
