Christian Santa Maria
Christian Santa Maria is a native of San Francisco, California. He graduated from the University of California, Davis with a BS in Genetics. Currently in his fifth year in the School of Dentistry’s DDS/PhD (second-year dental student), Christian is completing his thesis project with Dr. Wenhan Chang to study the anabolic effect of intermittent PTH and extracellular Calcium-Sensing Receptor agonists on bone. His work is currently supported by the NIDCR F30 fellowship. Christian is the recipient of Young Investigator and Outstanding Poster awards from The American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) and The Endocrine Society. He also participates in the ADEA Academic Dental Careers Fellowship Program (ADCFP), working with Dr. Sneha Oberoi on morphometric analysis of the craniofacial skeleton using cone-beam computed tomography. Christian’s personal interests mostly include sports/outdoor-related activities and his favorite hobby is cosplaying as notable superheroes.
