Course: DPH 175 - Dental Public Health Lectures and Seminars
The Dental Public Health Lecture Series covers access to dental care, quality of dental care, community-based preventive dentistry, dental public health programs, evidence-based dental public health services and outcomes research. Postgraduate students will use the information to help fulfill the Dental Public Health Competencies for Dental Public Health Specialists. Specific content of each lecture will be topical and presented by invited guest lecturers from around California and the country.
For every hour of lecture contact time, two hours of student preparation time are expected. Students evaluated by written reports of each session attended.
- Ask questions of the presenter based on preliminary research on the dental public health topics to be presented.
- Identify which of the Dental Public Health Competencies are addressed by the lectures.
- Analyze the critical elements of the PowerPoint presentations used by the presenters for optimal communication of information and learning.
- Provide a comprehensive written review of each lecture and related background material as researched by the student.
Email to course director Dr. Howard Pollick within one week following the lecture.
Interested individuals may attend the seminars in person or join via Zoom conference call on selected Tuesdays, 10-11:45 a.m. in room 376 at the Laurel Heights campus.
