The UCSF School of Dentistry’s Staff Work Life Committee plans events throughout the year to enrich the lives of all staff. The committee is a great way to get involved in the school and to improve the culture for Dentistry’s staff.
The Staff Work Life Committee is a formal collective charged with improving the culture for our staff in three key areas: health and wellness; celebration and recognition; and development and training. Committee members — who commit to a one-year appointment — are expected to be active participants in the brainstorming, planning and execution of nine events across the three aforementioned categories.
Find out more about the Staff Work Life Committee at its upcoming kickoff meeting, noon-1 p.m. Aug. 5 in S 719 (Medical Sciences). Please RSVP via Qualtrics.
The committee generally addresses three areas:
- Health and wellness: Initiate activities that improve the health and welfare of employees.
- Celebration/recognition: We organize events that celebrate the outstanding achievements of staff.
- Development and training: We identify and create development and training opportunities for staff.
The Staff Work Life Committee recently has partnered with the School of Pharmacy Wellness Group. In partnership with Pharmacy’s group, the committee has organized expert talks on nutrition and sleep hygiene as well as a two-hour resume workshop. This past year, the committee has celebrated staff with appreciation events including a morning coffee cart, hot dog lunch and gelato social.
