University of California San Francisco
Gurrinder Atwal, BDS, DDS, MS
Professor
Dr Atwal enjoys clinical practice and mentoring students to be excellent clinicians at the UCSF school of dentistry. He is the director of Community Based Clinical Education & Partnership (CBCE) program. CBCE enable students to work in the most underserved communities for multiple weeks as part of their externship journey. Learners get to enhance their clinical skills, get mentorship and most importantly bridge the gaps in access to oral health care in the marginalized communities. Hope is that some students will get inspired and seek employment in public health field at some point in their professional journey. Key to success is conservative, ethical practice with great communication skills and compassion towards patients. He strongly believes in continuing education and team building. Apart from being faculty at the UCSF school of dentistry, Dr. Atwal is a private practitioner in high private office since June, 2000. In his spare time Dr Atwal is a pilot who enjoys flying, traveling, hiking, humanitarian work, and Yoga.
