Drawing on the breadth of academic and clinical resources across UCSF, this multifaceted program offers students significant exposure to diagnosis and treatment planning for patients with complex restorative needs.

Lectures, seminars, demonstrations and conferences promote a biologic understanding of oral disease processes and provide a strong foundation for making treatment decisions. Clinical training, which will comprise about 60 percent of your time, involves the full range of prosthodontic problems and contemporary treatment modalities, including both fixed and removable prosthodontics, implants and maxillofacial prosthetics. Close interaction with faculty and residents in the postgraduate programs in periodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and oral and maxillofacial surgery will give you exposure to integrated treatments. Patient care is supplemented by observation, seminars and case presentations.

The postgraduate clinic has 17 operatories in the Dental Center. Intra-0ral scanners and 3D printers are available for direct patint care. In addition, each resident is assigned an individual laboratory bench space and receives assistance from a removable prosthodontic technician.

The 36-month residency, which begins in July, is accredited by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation. Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive a certificate and meet the requirements for examination by the American Board of Prosthodontics.

Residents will receive a stipend based on eligibility.
