Tara Mathia, DMD, MD
Assistant Professor
Dr. Mathia is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCSF. She received her DMD degree and certificate in public health from A.T. Still University in Phoenix, Arizona. She then completed her six-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at UCSF. While at UCSF she received her medical degree from the School of Medicine and completed a one-year General Surgery internship. After finishing residency she completed a one-year fellowship in Advanced Craniomaxillofacial Trauma Surgery with the Head and Neck Surgical Associates in Portland, Oregon. She then decided to return to UCSF as a full-time faculty member. Her academic interests include maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction, pathology, and resident education. In her free time she enjoys hiking, cooking, and exploring the beautiful Bay Area with her husband, Ben.
