Joel White, DDS, MS, will receive the Outstanding Clinician Award at this year’s Research and Clinical Excellence Day.
Dr. White, longtime faculty member in Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences, is the ninth recipient of the award, now bestowed every other year. He chairs the Division of Preclinical Education, Biomaterials and Engineering, and is a provider in the General Dentistry Faculty Clinic of UCSF Dental Center.
Recipients of the Outstanding Clinician Award are recognized by their peers within the School for their profound depth of knowledge in their field of practice, by a willingness to acquire and disseminate new knowledge, by their commitment to professionalism, and their demonstrated ability to provide care that is of the highest quality.
Research and Clinical Excellence Day, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11 in Cole Hall (lunch and poster session in Millberry Union gymnasium), will feature Isabelle Lombaert, PhD, of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, as plenary speaker. The John C. Greene Society — the School of Dentistry’s student research organization — will name its Mentor of the Year as well.
