Anthony Ellenikiotis, DDS, MS: 1959-2021

Anthony Ellenikiotis, DDS, MS, longtime professor in the Division of Orthodontics, passed away July 11 after a long battle with cancer. He was 62.

Dr. Ellenikiotis' connection with the school spans more than 20 years, during which he not only taught, but also in 2019 funded the Anthony J. Ellenikiotis Scholarship Endowment in the Division of Orthodontics at UCSF. He also chaired admissions for the orthodontics residency program at UCSF.

Survivors include children Yianni and Hellene, who respectively completed the UCSF orthodontics program in 2020 and the pediatric dentistry program last month, and Soula and George.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 16, at Church of the Holy Cross, 900 Alameda de las Pulgas, Belmont.
